Maison Orelle · Hair atelier, Vancouver

You've been meaning to.

That appointment you keep moving. This is your sign.

Bring us the idea.

A photo, a feeling, a colour you saw once on a stranger. That's enough.

Colour, blended by hand.

Mixed at the chair for your hair, your skin and the light you live in.

Cut to you.

Not to a photo. Not to a trend. To the way your hair actually falls.

There you are.

You, with the volume turned up.

The short version

You're not here for a haircut. You're here for the moment you catch yourself in a shop window and think, oh, there she is. One chair at a time, no rush, and nobody will tell you what's trending.

The atelier

One flight up, above a bookshop.

Camille Orelle trained in Lyon, ran colour for a big Toronto salon, and left because nobody there had time to look at anyone. In 2014 she opened four chairs in a sunlit room on Alder Row.

There's no music you have to shout over and no product pitch at the end. Just good light, long appointments, and someone paying real attention to your hair.
